Dormitories to rise in BGC
The authorities of BGC have noted how long commuting is affecting the productivity of people working in BGC, it seems. FBDC is putting up a 16-storey dorm near St. Luke's Medical Center. When operational in 2019, it will cater to over 1,500 workers who need a place to stay during work week.
Fire in Market! Market!
A fire occured in MarketMarket mall on May 24, 2017. One report suggests that it happened in a Japanese fastfood restaurant.
BGC to get a subway station
The Philippines and Japan have agreed to build the Mega Manila Subway System at the sidelines of World Economic Forum on ASEAN in Cambodia, and BGC will be one of the first stations.
New basketball courts in the Fort
A sportswear company has opened two basketball courts in the Fort. However, it is not free or open to the public. You need to register on their website www.titan22.com and pay first, then book court time online.
Creative Cities exhibition
THE Asean Creative Cities Forum and Exhibition brings together the initiatives of 10 Asean countries to reinforce the credibility of culture and art as a driving force for sustainable development and urban regeneration. The event will take place at the Bonifacio Global City Art Center, Taguig City, from April 24 to 27.
The court case on Roadblocks in BGC
THE Court of Appeals (CA) has granted a plea filed by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) in connection with the lower court’s injunction order preventing the firm from placing roadblocks in its property located along McKinley Parkway Drive in Taguig City (Metro Manila). We do not fully understand the legal language, but if it is a fight over roadblocks in BGC and more, we should keep our eyes peeled for new developments.
BGC subway project initiated
Philippine government officials and Japanese experts conducted an inspection on possible location of the planned Metro Manila Subway. The project, first in the Philippines, aims to link Bonifacio Global City, Makati Central Business District and the Mall of Asia in Pasay to provide a higher-capacity mass transit system for the public.
CA Ruling Gives BGC Back to Taguig
The Court of Appeals (CA) on Thursday issued a ruling which in effect will give Taguig City the ownership of the 729-hectare Fort Andres Bonifacio now known as Bonifacio Global City (BGC).
BGC-NAIA Bus Rapid System To Go Ahead
According to Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) President and CEO Mr. Vicencio Dizon, the BRT system connecting BGC to the country’s premier airport is expected to be completed by 2019.
2-Way Traffic Allowed in Edsa-McKinley
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will open the Edsa-McKinley service road in Makati City to two-way vehicular traffic to address bottleneck of vehicles in the country's financial district.
