It has been said that a child's first teacher is his/her mother. No other person knows her child - learning abilities, strengths, temperament, and even the littlest things about the child - better than a mother.
While the mom is the first teacher, the home then becomes the first school of the child. A playground, adventure zone, an encouraging learning haven for the the child. It is in the home where many of the firsts and countless milestones are discovered and nurtured. A place where learning unfolds and character flourishes.
Homeschooling is a growing movement in the Philippines. It is an alternative way of educating our
children—right in the comfort of our own homes! There are more than 15,000 families that are
homeschooling in the country right now.
There is also a growing interest from moms who want to try homeschooling. However, majority of us are
either clueless or scared. After all, we were educated in traditional schools and homeschooling is a
whole new territory for most of us.
This workshop aims to help moms understand what homeschooling is, where to begin, and how to do it.
