La Picara

If you chance upon their coowner, Ms Isabel, you can ask her about the restaurant's origin and concept. When we visited, she was very friendly, and explained to us that the word "picara" means "a little naughty" in Spanish, and their cuisine, while cooked in traditional Spanish flavors, are served in unconventional ways. For example, a traditional dish called Tortilla de Bacalao is served in a deconstructed way.

An Italian restaurant operated by the Spanish restaurant group La Lola that owns Tomatito, Rambla, La Lola Churros and Las Floras, it has a homely yet elegant design, as can be seen in the featured photo.

Caffe Freddo

9th Ave, Bonifacio High Street

This cafe is unlike other specialty coffee shop, in that they charge for service. So it probably will be a place that you do not have to wait long to get a table to enjoy coffee. The name of the shop, Caffe Freddo, actually means iced coffee as a long drink. The cold espresso coffee drink is black in the bottom, and has a creamy foam on top. Instead of just adding ice to coffee, the ice is shaken with the coffee, in order to get a uniform blend of cold coffee.
