The New Year celebration in Bonifacio Global City to welcome 2018 has been the most exciting one ever happened in Fort Bonifacio. There were more big venues which hosted countdown parties, such as:
Valkyrie Night Club (celebrity DJ)
Ibiza Beach Club BGC (buffet dinner and live performance)
Seda Hotel Restaurant (dinner and fireworks)
High Street Lounge, Shangri-la at the Fort (buffet dinner and singing)
Amphitheater, Bonifacio High Street (free live performance by Gary Valenciano and fireworks)
In fact, this year we saw the biggest and best fireworks display in Fort Bonifacio. Prior to this, there were new year fireworks displays in the Fort that took place near the Palace at Uptown, and near Serendra, but none matched the ones that happened in Makati in terms of scale or wow factor. This year, however, the Fort residents did not have to go far to see a great fireworks display.
At midnight, the sky near building C1 at Bonifacio High Street was lit up, and it went on for a good 10 minutes, with a variety of spectacular fireworks arrangements.
There were the traditional signle and multiple chrysanthemum design, vertical trees, and multi color chain displays.
After the fireworks at Bonifacio High Street was down, we could still see some fireworks displays near Seda Hotel.
Another place that had fireworks display in Fort Bonifacio was in the Uptown area in Bonifacio North, near the Palace club complex. Unfortunately, we were not able to be there at midnight, hence did not take any photo of the fireworks there.

Big Countdown Clock
Also a first in BGC was the setting up of a big digital countdown clock in Bonifacio High Street that helped to bring the crowd together in a common goal.
Crowds gathered around the digital countdown clock as midnight drew near.
At Bonifacio High Street, the crowd was entertained by renowned singers intermittently at the amphitheater. The most famous of them being Gary Valenciano, who performed a few songs before and after the fireworks. Those who were into loud music and dancing probably had a blast in Valkyrie Night Club, while others who preferred to have conversations with friends and family while waiting for the countdown would probably have preferred the countdown parties at Seda Hotel or High Street Lounge at Shangri-la at The Fort.
We were sad to learn that the countdown party at Ibiza Club BGC was also its farewell party. This unique entertainment venue that served not only meals but first-class live dancing and singing shows closed its door for good after the countdown party. Ibiza Club BGC will be sorely missed.
Apart from that sad note, it looks like new year celebration at the Fort is getting more exciting from now on. Let us see what else will come up when it is time to welcome next year.
